Welcome to the Autodesk Press Tech Support / FAQ page. Here you will find answers to questions that you won't find by calling tech support. You will be able to save time by troubleshooting right from this page.


Before You Install
*You must disable Antivirus before attempting installation. If you attempted to install with Antivirus "on", you must de-install, turn off Antivirus, and re-install.


Before you install be sure you:

  1. Confirm your eligibility by completing the following steps:
    a. FAX or mail your current student or faculty ID and
    b. FAX or mail a course schedule (students only) showing enrollment of at least three (3) credit hours in a degree-granting program or nine-month certificate-granting program and
    c. FAX or mail a completed Autodesk Purchase Agreement located on the reverse side of this document.

  2. Have an Autodesk Serial Number and CD Key.

  3. Contact Autodesk Press to receive a Password for 2000 and 2000i-related releases only.

  4. It's worth saying it twice: You must disable Antivirus before attempting Installation. If you attempted to install with Antivirus "on", you must de-install, turn off Antivirus, and re-install.

Before You Call
Before calling tech support, you must have the following information on-hand:

  • Product ISBN # 0-7668- (located on the back panel or bottom flap of your product packaging)
  • Serial Number and CD Key
  • Your name, address, and zip code
  • Day and evening telephone numbers
  • Brand, model, and type of computer system
  • Brand and model of video adapter card
  • Hard disk capacity and free space
  • Amount of RAM you have on your computer
  • A printout of your AUTOEXEC. BAT and CONFIG. SYS files
  • A list of installed peripherals (printer, mouse, etc.)
  • Place and date of purchase

You are entitled to 30 days of Up and Ready web and telephone support from your date of Registration, in English, covering installation and configuration of your new AutoCAD only Autodesk software.

The 30-day support program will automatically be set up in the name of the person registering the product. This registering party will receive a system notification to set up a login to access the support program.
